The City of Winchester's International Children's Festival (no fee to enter) is presented by Blue Ridge Kiwanis and will offer area children many interactive opportunities to learn about the cultures represented in this area as well other countries around the world. The Festival will be held on October 2, 2010 in and around Jim Barnett Park's gymnasium from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (rain or shine). The Festival will not only include a variety of educational booths representing many different countries, but also live cultural entertainment all day, an international food court, an instrument petting zoo and international storytelling!

The Shenandoah Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold recruitment day on Sunday, Oct. 3, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Royal Family Bowling Center.
